This will ensure you get the most out of the group experience. While this may sometimes lead to some intense moments, theses are often the best learning and growth opportunities.
Ultimately, it is not the cost of participating in a mastermind group that matters, so much as the value of experience you will gain. Once you have found the right group, you will begin to soar like never before, on the wings of the group’s synergy and support.

When you talk with someone and they offer you advice, what value can you put on their experience? I personally find if it’s good, it can mean the difference between success and failure, bankruptcy and wealth, health and just surviving. Here are my reasons.
It depends on how you use it; what value it has to you. Let me put it in the form of an example.
Let’s say you have some issue that requires surgery. You know that if you get it, you will be cured. You can live the rest of your life without the problem.
Now who will do the surgery? Let’s say you know two people offering to do the job. The surgeon you like who charges you $10,000 for the job. The price seems a little steep, but you know the job will get done right. You will be cured. You know his reputation; believe in what you are hearing.
There is also option two. He charges only $500. But he has never done this operation. In fact, he is the mechanic who works on your car. So, who do you choose to solve your problem? The price is quite different, but what about the value?
I know. This scenario is ridiculous. Although maybe not so ridiculous when you think about how many people travel the world searching for some specialty cure and paying thousands of dollars with no real guarantee to fix the problem.
Obviously when it comes to your health or anything personal you want the best to do the job. You want value and experience.
EXPERIENCE BEGETS WEALTH
Now let’s switch that around. What if you need some advice to make you tens of thousands of dollars or become wealthy? What would you pay for such advice? Everyone is different. Every circumstance is different.
But maybe here is the answer to your problem. I just got back home from San Diego where I participated in an amazing mastermind group.
This is a group of about thirty people who have various reasons for being there. But they all have one thing in common. They understand the synergy of the group working together for the betterment of each other is something that can propel them to the heights they want, desire and deserve.
We meet three times a year and participate in ongoing discussions online throughout the year. I pay $15,000 a year to participate in this group.
I also belong to another group. The Atlas 400. I paid $25,000 to join this group and a $5,000 yearly administration fee. This is a business and social group of thought and industry leaders. Many are from the area of finance and some are top surgeons and entrepreneurs. The group is actually very diverse, so the list goes on and on.
You might ask me, “Why would you pay so much money to belong to a group like this when you are already successful?” The answer is quite simple. Because I know the power of a group like this and what it can mean to future successes. As for Atlas, it is really a fun group of people who like to travel with likeminded people and see great places in the world.
But why pay so much to mingle with like-minded people you could meet at home? You have a right to ask.
One of the things that lead me to my success was being part of a mastermind group over twenty years ago. So when it comes to the cost, it isn’t the cost that is important; it is the value you get participating in a group such as this.
COLLECTIVE EXPERIENCE COUNTS
Why is it that they work so well together? Why do they take you on to new horizons?
It’s because the collective experience of everyone in the group is diverse and each one provides a personal perspective no one else or few people have. Each one brings different experiences to the groups. It is often something small which sparks a conversation that leads to something big or a bigger conversation that leads to the success you were after.
Of course the moderator or leader of the group makes a difference. The experience of the leader(s) directly impacts on how the group is moderated, the direction it takes. It is important when you are in a group like this to draw on the experience of others as it relates to what you want to accomplish in your life or as part of the group.
We never promote what we are doing in these groups. If I have an issue that requires solving, I can put it to the group and get feedback.
When it comes to a mastermind, it is important to put yourself, your real self, in the ring to be praised or accountable. Like most things in life, the experiences of others at these moments may create intense or anxious moments that make you grow. This growth from the experience of others is invaluable. It may be the catalyst that takes you to the heights you truly deserve.

When you consider whether joining a mastermind group like this, whether it be big or small, expensive or less costly, think about what you want out of the group. Going into something like this with a clear mindset of what you would like to get out of it gives you direction and an important focus from the outset.
Think about how you can add to the group; how you can be involved.
Remember my surgeon and mechanic above. One offers value and the cure. The other no value but low price. But think of the heights the mechanic might grow to if he had a likeminded group like this!
IF I HAD KNOWN
Apart from the mentoring group when I was in my thirties, I didn’t have a mentor to draw from growing up. I really believe if I had had the expertise and guidance of a mentor I could have accomplished much more at an earlier age. I may have been able to even avoid my bankruptcy. It is interesting when I look back at those times. Just a few bits of advice from someone could have turned the tables. It could do the same for you.
That said, I learned a lot over the years. This is one of the reasons I feel it necessary to bring my experience out in the open, to help others like you, fulfill your quest to succeed to the heights you choose and desire. And after I help you, perhaps you’ll start your own mastermind group in the future.
