I’m sure you’ve heard different variations of the “opportunity knocks” idiom.
I think the one that I hear most often is, “opportunity knocks but once.” This version is actually in the English Oxford Dictionary.
I know, because I have one, which I don’t use that often anymore because I get most things online these days.
I’m not sure that opportunity only comes around one time. I think certain opportunities may only come around just once.
I only met wife 17 years ago, randomly through a friend, while out with another friend at a bar in Vancouver. I’ll leave the complete story of how that initial encounter evolved…
However, when we examined how many other times we could have met, going back many, many years, it was really amazing. We realized we were at many of the same events and functions, but somehow our paths just didn’t cross.
The timing wasn’t right, I guess.
But truly, I find opportunities everywhere.
