Have you ever been in a situation that has become so overwhelming you were on hyper-alert?

When you fail at something do you allow that failure to become the most predominant thought you have at that moment?

Personally, I’ve had both of these situations occur at different times.

For me, when I was down and out in my early twenties, after having to declare bankruptcy, I didn’t know whether to pay my rent or buy food. I paid my rent because being homeless wasn’t an option and figured out how to make the few cans I had stretch further.

But at that point, my total focus was on shelter and food. That focus was causing me to lose sight of the bigger picture I had for my life. – Creating financial freedom or as I now call it, Perpetual Wealth.

On the second question of being on hyper-alert, I have two examples I’ll share with you.

The first was when I was going over a major bridge, heading home during a rainy morning, in Vancouver, Canada. There was a curve that lead onto the bridge and as I went around it, the back end of my car slipped out and I lost control.

As I did a 360-degree spin, twice and skidded along the guard rail, my senses were in hyper-mode and everything appeared to be going in ultra-slow-motion. I remember thinking that there was a good chance, the car would hop the guard and crash through the barrier which would lead to a 150 or 200 foot fall to the ocean below.

Fortunately, the car came to a stop and I was fine and it’s one reason I’ve taken driving classes in several types of different race cars.

The most recent time my brain was on hyper-alert, was the first time I was shot at. (and fortunately, the only time)

I was taking a tactical training course with some x-Delta force heros, the same people that train the FBI and other SWAT teams. It was truly an amazing experience.

Day one was all on marksmanship, which was fairly easy.

However, on day two they taught us how to clear a room in a hostage situation. As the day progressed, they added complexity to the situation.

As the final detail, they added a real person firing back at me/us as we entered the room. (they fired blanks, but it didn’t feel like it and they didn’t tell us they were blanks)

To tell you it put all of my senses on hyper-alert, is an understatement. I have so much respect for the men and women who choose to do that job and run into a room where they know someone is likely waiting behind the door with the intention of shooting them dead.

And here’s one of the most amazing parts – they WANT TO BE FIRST through the door!

OK, but what can we learn from this?

That’s the point actually.

When you find yourself overwhelmed or on hyper-alert, you need to breathe, calm yourself and think with clarity.

The only way to do that, is to have trained for whatever might come your way.

In your life, you might not be interested in training in race cars or with x-Delta force like I have.

So, what can you do that will keep your head above water in times of stress?

One solution that I use and teach people to use are PPMs – Personal, Programming, Messages.

When you use them daily, you not only align your conscious and subconscious thoughts, you prepare your minds for the trial, tribulations and stresses that will inevitably come your way.

They will keep you on track and focused and allow you to stay calm, breathe and think through the situation at hand.

There’s a very simple process to create your personal PPMs. Ones, that meet your own needs.

I detail exactly how to do that in my program; The Achievers’ Formula.

Everyone I know that has implemented the system, has made huge changes in their lives’ – some starting within just a few days.

OH – And all it takes is about 7-minutes a day!
