When you’re asked, “which super-power would you like to have you could choose one?” …
It’s always a fun little exercise to hear what different people choose and for what reasons.
But whether you’d like the powers of Superman, the Invisible Man, (my choice) Super Woman or whomever, none of these mythical beings are really my heros.
Heroes come in many forms, from the civilian or first responder that saves a person from certain death at the last moment, to an Olympic athlete that overcame great odds to participate and maybe win a medal.
My son last week had his 14th eye operation, and was told he isn’t ever going to be able to see out of his left eye.
They’re working very hard to maintain the sight in his right eye so he can have a somewhat normal life.
Time will tell.
But his life has been anything but normal.
He went from perfect eye sight to legally blind in both eyes in 18 months.
That was in grade 7.
He has a semi-rare eye disease that is a thinning of the cornea.
He’s had three cornea transplants. Two were in his left eye, the blind one.
He’s been unable to function as a kid and now, a normal young adult.
Constantly being rushed to emergency.
Going from having some sight to none to some – repeatedly.
Surgeries interrupting his life and not being able to maintain a job in some cases or properly attend school to study something he’d like to do as a career.
Many people would become bitter and resentful.
They might lash out or who knows what.
For two thirds of his life, he’s been dealing with this situation and all the while, keeping an amazing attitude.
An attitude I don’t often see in people with no real challenges in life.
He’s got a great heart and has become a wonderful person and young man.
He’s my hero.
And if there was one super power I could really have, at any cost, it would be to fix his eyes!
I tell you this because we never know what life has in store for us.
But I can tell you this.
I’ve got him started with investing and creating a process to achieve Perpetual Wealth.
If the worst happens and he can’t see, a Perpetual Wealth portfolio will look after him.
Like it would you, if something were to ever happen to you, or someone you cared deeply about.
One of the best aspects of Perpetual Wealth is that once created it can last generations.
It can be a safety net for you and your family no matter what happens in the future.
So maybe you aren’t creating this for you.
Maybe, you’re doing it for someone else.
You can be somebody’s hero: https://members.tonyneumeyer.com/p/PW_LP_1
