My wife and I will be.
This is hilarious to me though; so will Alexa, the Amazon Echo unit. She’s even making her own predictions on the outcome.
In an article on Huntington Post, Alexa is quoted as saying; “The team favorite to win is the, cough, the, cough, excuse me, is the Patriots. That was tough to get out.” She goes on to say; “But I’m flying with the Eagles on this one because of their relentless defense and the momentum they’ve been riding on their underdog status. E-A-G-L-E-S – EAGLES.”
It makes me laugh watching the YouTube video.
Would you place a bet based on what Alexa says? I know I wouldn’t.
Actually, I don’t really follow football during the regular season, only the playoffs and I make one small bet a year for fun.
I only bet the “over-under,” which is betting that the combined points of the two teams with either be over a certain number, or under that same number. This year, that number currently stands at 48 points.
I’m betting the “over” and hoping for a high scoring game. I like taking the over because then I’m pulling for both teams to score every time they have possession of the ball.
It makes for a very fun time, that is unless it’s a very defensive game and there are only a few points being scored.
It’s true, I do this just for fun and if I lose, I don’t give it another thought. It won’t change my life.
Typically though, I ONLY bet when the odds are heavily stacked in my favor and I’m virtually assured of winning.
Situations like this exist.
And one of the favorite bets I like to make, is betting on myself.
My track record is pretty good in accomplishing what I set out to accomplish, so betting I can do it again, is a good bet.
