Hey
The power of the internet is unquestioned, or it at least should be.
Here’s a strange example what I mean.
In Indonesia, and other countries, for fun kids stand on the side of the road and try and prod drivers to honk their horns.
As a kid, we used to do the same thing with train engineers. We’d give the toot signal with our arms and do a drinking signal, tipping our heads back and mock-holding a bottle of water.
If we were really lucky, the engineer would give a blast of the horn and toss from his window an unopened fresh bottle of water us.
But we didn’t have the internet, or smartphones to record our antics.
These kids in a faraway land stand at the side of the road and yell, “om telolet om”. If the drivers give in with a honk of their horn, the kids go crazy, jumping up and down with excitement.
Then they began to take their game a little further than we did.
They created signs with those same words on them.
They would wave them at the passing cars hoping for the joyful feedback of the honk.
Of course, this is just the type of thing passers-by would video on their phones and post online.
That’s where the power of the internet took over.
The videos went viral and so did the term.
International DJs have created mixes with om tololet om horn honks in them.
There have been examples in New York City and other cities of people yelling the phrase to passing trucks. These are caught on video and posted on social media.
Police in Indonesia were even seen dancing in the intersections as children prodded drivers to honk and got the desired result.
Loosely translated, the term means, “uncle, honk, uncle.”
The practice has since been banned in some cities in Indonesia due to safety concerns.
But this strangish story goes to show how a simple idea can go global. It just takes the post of a video or photo online somewhere.
Your idea can be global too.
In the inaugural edition of the Perpetual Wealth Club newsletter, the global online business idea of the month is one where people are earning over a million dollars a year. (no, not everyone).
But this simple business is so easy to start, you could be up and running in a few days. To hear how you can get all the details to this business idea, (for free) get on board tomorrow’s live webinar here: https://app.webinarjam.net/register/4971/4049b6be6b
I hope to see you there.
